The diocese of Swansea and Brecon extends from Beguildy in rural mid Wales to Rhossili on the South Wales coast. What we doThe Mothers’ Union has over 3.6 million members in 77 countries. Our lives and experiences of the MU may differ widely but we are united by our shared belief in the importance of the family in God’s world and the fellowship of belonging to a Christian organisation which welcomes all - men and women, married and single - and who believe in the importance of Christian family life. The MU in Swansea and Brecon:
MembershipBranch membershipThe first branch of the MU in Wales was formed in Llandrindod Wells, in 1884, and there are now 55 branches with 1440 members. Diocesan membershipThere are 47 Diocesan Members who fall into these categories:
Diocesan Members receive regular mailings, which include newsletters, Easter and Christmas greeting cards and new promotional material. IMPC membershipThese are members who can no longer attend meetings because they are housebound through age, illness or because they are carers. There are members of IMPC (Indoor Members Prayer Circle). These Members receive Christmas and Easter Greetings, a Newsletter and Prayer booklet. They provide prayerful support for the ongoing work of the MU in the diocese.
