All our work is upheld by prayer and the MU promotes the development of prayer and spiritual growth for its members .
Day Retreats held in the Spring and in preparation for Advent are usually well attended.
- Quiet days are organised by branches and deaneries.
- Quiet times are held each autumn – two in the south and two in the north of the diocese.
- Deanery Festival Services held each year are a wonderful opportunity for fellowship between local branches.
- An Emergency Prayer Chain enables the Faith and Policy Committee to pray for people, quickly, in times of specific need.
- The Committee organises and resources the annual Wave of Prayer when members pray for our link dioceses of Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos and Kitui (in Kenya) and Bunbury and Perth (in Western Australia).
- A monthly service of Holy Eucharist is held lunchtime in St Mary’s Swansea (First Friday of each month) and the Cathedral, at Brecon (Third Friday of the month.) Members participate by reading lessons and leading the Midday prayers.
- During each three-year period, there is a Diocesan Festival, an Archideaconal Festival and a Rally so that members from all over the diocese may meet together for faith and fellowship.
