Local Projects

Local projects are undertaken by Swansea and Brecon MU in our own Diocese. Some of these projects can be seen below.

Support for families in Safe houses

Swansea and Brecon MU supports families in our four Safe Houses in various ways.

We donate groceries to the Safe Houses. Deliveries are made three times a year at Easter, early Autumn and Christmas

Caravan Holidays for families in need

The AFIA (Away from it all) project provides Caravan Holidays for families who are in need of a holiday.

Diocesan/Local Projects

Because of personal circumstances many families find it impossible to have a family holiday. The holidays may be for parents and children, lone parents, carer and sometimes includes sick or disabled children.

The holidays are usually accommodated at the caravan owned by Llandaff Mothers' Union. Families are very appreciative of these holidays as it allows them to spend quality time together away for home

Days out for families

We fund coaches for families who attend the Diocesan Faith in Family Centres to enjoy days out.

One group of 17 families enjoyed a visit to Cantref Farm in the Brecon Beacons. The children enjoyed a variety of activities including- lamb feeding, Pony rides, Tractor ride, Sled ride, Swap ride and Play area.

Gardening project

Diocesan/Local Projects

Gardening tools, windmills, wellingtons and macs have been provided for the children, at two of the Faith in Family Centres run by the Diocese. This has enabled young children to experience the thrill of gardening and sometimes eat the produce.

Garden benches have also been donated for children and adults to enjoy sitting in the garden.
