Who to talk to
Meet the Vicar!
The Vicar will help you to prepare for your wedding and sort out any legal issues. Some of the things you'll discuss follow.
The service
Thinking about the format of the service and readings and hymns you might like to have.
Legal issues
It is now easier to marry in a church away from where you live, if you have a special family connection with the church. If either of you has a foreign passport, some legal hurdles, have to be overcome because of immigration law.
Has either of you been married before?
Not all vicars feel able to marry someone who has been divorced, but there may well be a way forward.
Filling in a form
Various details will be required; date and time of wedding your full names, date of birth, addresses, your work, parents' names, their work etc.
Taking photos and videos in Church
It may not be possible to take photos during the service but the Vicar will advise you on this. Videos require a licence which will incur an extra cost.
Throwing of confetti in church grounds is not always permissible.
